So, the recruiter who's been there for over 8 years tried to schedule the first interview, but then missed it and gave excuses to reschedule. When I told her my salary range, she said it was a bit outside their budget, but she'd check with the hiring manager and get back to me. I waited a week with no response, and my emails and calls were ignored until I used some professional courtesy phrases in an email to get her to respond, again with excuses. Then she went silent for two more weeks, giving no status update. Finally, I got her on the phone, and her lack of enthusiasm was really obvious. When I introduced myself, she had this awkward, delayed pause, like she was annoyed I called. She tried to cut me off saying, 'I know which position you’re talking about,' which made me want to hang up, but I stayed polite. I already knew how it would end. After the call, I emailed asking for a debrief, but I'm sure I won't hear back, just like before. I even emailed the Chief HR head about my experience. Apparently, the recruiter and the CMI Group are moving on with other candidates, which is fine. But people should know about the kind of people who work for this company and experiences like mine. This kind of thing can really hurt a company's reputation because candidates share their interactions with the people who represent the company. If they treat me this way, imagine how they treat others.

I first heard from a recruiter on LinkedIn. They did a phone screen, asked for my resume, and gave me some questions to complete. About a month later, the department manager reached out and conducted another phone screen. Around two weeks after that, I was invited to the company for an in-person interview. I met with the department manager, a supervisor, some other team members, and the VP of Engineering. Everyone was really welcoming.

I went to CMI for a walk-in interview. I initially thought it might be bad because it seemed like people there had already spoken with someone, but as soon as I arrived, I was greeted warmly. They asked me to sign in and complete an application. After about 20 minutes, they called me back. They asked about my goals, what I'm looking for in the role, how I handle negativity, and why I'd be a good fit. The interviewer was friendly, inquired about my availability, and informed me about a required drug and background check, which I agreed to. She also explained the training schedule and allowed me to choose my preferred work schedule.

The interview process was super chill, like I got an interview the same day I applied, and I didn't even have a resume or anything. The recruiter was really cool. The office itself is nice and professional, but man, I hated how cramped the desks were. Seriously no room to even stretch, I hated that part.
