First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Information Security Analyst
Applied online and got a quick call back. The first interview went smoothly, and I spoke with people from two different teams. I heard back a week later for what I thought was the final interview. However, I never got a confirmation email and had to sign in as a visitor on-site after checking with HR if it was still on. Once I arrived, neither the hiring manager nor the other manager showed up or contacted me about it. A senior executive from a completely different department interviewed me alone. He didn't know much about the role or his own department. He asked me three questions, I asked him three, and then I left since it was clear the managers weren't coming. I received a rejection email two days later.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
Security Analyst
There was one non-technical phone interview to check if I was passionate about the cause and morally fit for the job. Then, there was a pretty basic technical interview. Be humble, because there are advanced guys who will try to nail you if you're overconfident.
- What's the difference between NIPS and NIDS?
- How can SQL injection be performed?
- What are the consequences of a successful SQL injection?
Information Security Analyst
The hiring process took months and felt disorganized, despite being thorough. There was no option to negotiate the salary, and the offer was conditional on going through a third-party staffing agency, although they weren't involved in the interviews themselves. I noticed some concerning signs in how the manager conducted the interviews, which in hindsight were clear indicators of their poor management style.
- Can you define the technical and regulatory acronyms I showed you and explain the associated concepts and policies?
