First, you gotta apply online, filling out some info about yourself and your past jobs. If you meet the basic requirements (like being over 18 and having 2 years of server experience), they'll call you to set up an interview. If you're over 18 but don't have the 2 years of experience, they might call you for a different role, like cashier, wrangler (which can lead to Expo), host, or food runner. The interview itself is pretty laid-back. The manager who's in charge of the position you're applying for will interview you. Since the managers here are salaried and don't serve or take tips, they aren't competing with you, so there's no bias there. Not everyone gets hired, but everyone who applies gets an interview. If you haven't heard back, give the store a call and ask for a hiring manager. Also, if the restaurant is already fully staffed, that could affect your chances of getting hired, even if you interview well.

The interview process was unprofessional. In the first interview, I waited an hour. The second interview felt unproductive as I answered the same questions. During the third interview, I waited 30 minutes and had to ask someone to let the interviewer know I would be late for work. The manager then saw me for about 10 minutes and said I was hired, promising an email with training class information, which I never received. I called but got no response. Despite having references from a current server and manager, I felt the process was a waste of time. I was told the training class was moved to mid-April, but I'm not optimistic. (Note: I previously worked for this company at a different location, and that interview process was smooth; this time was different.)

I'm not totally sure about their hiring process now, as I worked there a while back when they had those distinctive white uniforms. The managers were really focused on developing staff, and there was a strong culture of growth at the Friendship Heights location. They didn't want hosts to stay as hosts or inexperienced servers to remain inexperienced. Their fundamental hospitality training was super helpful in my career. The training period itself was intense but comprehensive, covering straightforward, basic hospitality topics. The management was attentive to the details of this industry. I'm really thankful for my time with the company.
