The interview process was quite long and really thorough. Carlyle is looking for top-notch candidates. For an Executive Assistant role, you usually start with a phone screening from the recruiter. After that, the next step is the first round of in-person interviews. Plan to be on-site for at least 2 hours, interviewing with a few team members. You'll likely meet with someone at your level and also senior managers, plus the most senior person the job supports. There are usually two rounds of in-person interviews before they make a decision. Carlyle Group generally moves quickly, so you should find out fairly fast if they're interested.

I had a phone interview which went well, and then they emailed me a few days later to come in for an in-person. They said to plan for 2 to 2-1/2 hours. I got there on time and met with HR real quick. Then I met with someone else for about 20 mins. Then I waited another 25 mins for the third person to interview me. They told me they'd get back to me. I sent thank you notes to all three people the next day, handwritten. Never heard anything back.

I got an interview thanks to a recruiter, and I guess I was qualified for the role. But then, when I met the HR lady, she was super cold and unfriendly. She talked super fast and the whole interview was like 10 minutes long. It's wild that a big firm like The Carlyle Group doesn't have more experienced HR people, 'cause she seemed really young and new to the job.
