Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Carlyle Group.
Accountant
I applied and heard back from a recruiter. Then there were several interviews. The last one was over webcam because the company is in Europe. It was mostly professional and they seemed like a good company with a lot of potential. However, there were some big red flags during the interview process, so I decided not to accept the job offer.
- Will you be having children?
- Is it okay with you if you are not promoted?
Accountant
Had a phone screening a few days after applying. Then I interviewed with 5 different people for about 30 minutes each. The interview went well, but I was really disappointed that no one followed up with me afterward. I would have liked some kind of response. It's a bummer because I took time to interview with them, and they couldn't even be bothered to get back to me.
- Can you tell me about your resume?
Accounting Associate
It was a relaxed and conversational interview. I liked talking with the people there; they were nice and really knew their stuff. There weren't a lot of tough questions, and the chat just flowed. I got a good feel for the job and how I'd fit into the team.
- Can you tell me about your greatest weakness?
