It started with a phone screen from the recruiter, then a video interview with the hiring manager. After following up with the recruiter a bunch, I just got ghosted. It's super unprofessional. Like, it's not that hard to just tell someone no or that you're still deciding. Ignoring a candidate who spent time interviewing is just unacceptable. I don't get why companies think this is okay.

A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn, and about a month later, I had 45-minute phone interviews with both the recruiter and the hiring manager. A few days after that, I went for several in-person interviews, each about 45-50 minutes long. The interviews weren't behavioral, though I did prepare for them. Instead, they were all discussions about my background and past projects, with prompts to expand on my resume points. It felt pretty laid-back. What was a bit unusual was that a lot of HR communication happened via text. My advice is to research the company thoroughly beforehand; interviewers were impressed by my research. Also, be super familiar with your resume and past work so you can give examples. The whole thing, from the initial contact to getting a start date offer, took about three months. They definitely move at their own pace.

They asked me some basic questions and wanted to understand why I was looking to leave my current job for this role. Everyone was pretty polite and easygoing, and they seemed to know the business quite well.
