Even though a current Campbell's employee suggested I apply for a role they thought I'd be good for and qualified for, the recruiter's screening call was a letdown. Instead of a normal call, I was told I was underqualified and informed about typical candidate qualifications. I barely got to explain my current and past roles, skills, and industry knowledge before the recruiter assumed my skills weren't transferable because they came from a different company and background. Skills in this field are usually transferable with a new perspective and some training. My advice is for Hiring Managers and Recruiters to discuss open roles more before talking to candidates to make sure everyone's on the same page.

I applied and the recruiter contacted me the same day to schedule a phone screen. They stayed in touch via email, phone, and text throughout the whole process, keeping me updated. After the phone screen, I had a 1:1 Teams meeting with the hiring manager, who was a bit late and seemed uninterested, but was generally friendly. About a month later, I had a 4-hour interview session with a HR rep, a senior brand manager, a customer marketing manager, and the hiring manager again, all via Teams. It was a friendly environment, and they asked me questions about my experience and behavioral questions aligned with Campbell's values. I waited another month and then got a call saying they might offer me the role but at a lower title due to my experience, which was unexpected since it wasn't mentioned before. I decided to withdraw my application after that.

Behavioral Case

I was interviewing on-campus at my business school, and my Campbell's interview was just one round. It had a mix of marketing/brand questions and general behavioral questions. The interview lasted about 45 minutes, and I got a response within a couple days. Super efficient! They asked questions about why Campbell's and brand management, and some that checked my brand knowledge and creativity.
