I experienced a very rude application handling. They said they'd get back to me a day after the onsite, but I waited weeks before rejection. When I followed up, they gave excuses like the manager being sick or on vacation. I suspect they were just looking for cheaper talent. My impression is they prioritize hiring researchers who will accept low salaries in an expensive state, rather than the absolute best. Their data science teams aren't really made of genuine data scientists. Any qualified DS either rejects their low offer or leaves soon after accepting due to the harsh reality in Boston. All the funding seems to go to faculty, while associate researchers, research scientists, and postdocs do the actual work.

I got an email for a 2-hour coding interview. Then I received another email asking me to pick a time slot, but there were no available times. They told me this email was sent by mistake. After I submitted my coding interview, I waited for the next steps. A week later, I got an email saying my application was deactivated because they'd been 'trying to reach me about the next steps with no success,' which wasn't true. When I asked about it, they said the 'wrong reason' was selected for the auto-email and that they weren't moving forward with my application as requested by the hiring team after they reviewed my coding interview. Overall, it was a disorganized process with lots of ups and downs.
