Sales Representative
Applied on the company website and then did a Personality Index which just checks obvious sales qualities. HR e-mailed about a HireVue interview, gave a few days to complete. The e-mail felt personal but was probably a mass e-mail. I'm comfortable with video interviews, so I didn't think too much of it. I thought I did okay, but kinda messed up the last question about what makes me stand out. Got an e-mail saying I'd hear back within 2 weeks, but they actually responded within the hour saying I'm not moving on. They must have really disliked me and my answers lol. It's the real world, it sucks. 5 star experience for making a quick decision though. Definitely took a hit to the ego. No hard feelings, onto the next one. Cheers!

The interview process was really long and way too intense for the job. I sent my resume and HR got back to me fast. Then I had to do a video interview, which was weird because you have to record yourself answering 3 questions and can't redo it. After that, I had a phone interview with HR, about a month after the video one. Then I met the regional and district managers in person at a Starbucks for an hour. They asked some strange questions, but mostly about my past work. A week later, I got an email saying they were moving on with other candidates. I heard the next step was working with a rep for a full day out in the market, followed by meeting higher-ups for the final interview. It's a lot to ask someone to take days off for so many interviews and drag the process out for 3 months. I'm kind of glad I didn't get to the next stage, taking a whole day off to work for a job you don't have seems dumb.
- What's your take on Boston Beer, good or bad?
- Which Sam Adams beer have you tried lately?
- Can you sell me that Sam Adams beer you just mentioned?
Sales Representative
It was a long process, with many rounds, but really enjoyable. There were 6 rounds total, one included a market ride-along. The process makes you really love the company. If you are a campus recruit, you start with an online screening, then an in-person interview. If you pass that, you go on a ride-along with a Brewery Rep. After that, you present to the District Sales Manager and have to 'romance' a Boston Lager. The very last stage is in Boston, at the plant, with Executives. The whole process was very fun, and I think everyone should apply, it's a great company.
