I applied online and right away got an email to set up an automated 3-minute "personality test". The next day, I had to do a HireVue recorded interview with some questions. It's been silent since then, and I bet my application and video are just sitting in an HR inbox. I would not apply to this company again. They talk a lot about valuing people, but the application process does not show that.

The interview process at Boston Beer was quite unprofessional. The initial recruiter call was fine, but the next step with the hiring manager was set up by text, which felt odd. The interview with the hiring manager went okay, but they mostly talked (90%) and only asked two questions, one being 'tell me about yourself.' I was given clear next steps, but then heard nothing for days. My follow-ups to the recruiter were met with runarounds, and eventually, I got an automated rejection email. The job was re-posted soon after, suggesting it wasn't filled. It's disappointing to be interviewed with so few questions and then ghosted.

This was a great interview experience and it gives both parties time to see if it is a good fit. It starts with a hire vue video where they ask basic questions such as why you want to work for Boston Beer. If they like you, you will have a phone interview with a recruiter. If that goes well, you will have a 3rd interview with a region and division manager. If that interview goes well, you will have a 4th interview which is a ride along. All of these steps allow the candidate to also get a feel for the company and the role they’re applying for. The final interview is via Skype with the Cheif Sales Officer. All 5 interviews took about 3 months. It was sometimes anxious waiting between steps, but it is worth it to be patient and take time to express yourself, your qualifications, and your desire to become a part of this amazing team. If you do find yourself in the waiting game, understand that it’s in the best interest of both parties to ultimately decide if it’s a great fit. All in all, patience and persistence is key... and if you get an offer you’ll feel that you are valued right out of the gate. So rewarding!
