You'll chat with the team over the phone, and then talk with current interns and intern coordinators about the opportunity. You need to send in a short cover letter and a writing sample. If all goes well, they'll offer you a short summer program, and you can decide if you want to continue working there after it wraps up.

I have an interview for the Political Affairs Intern role today. I'm a bit concerned because I've seen complaints from past interns saying the experience wasn't what they expected. I'm trying to figure out what their real intentions are.

I interviewed with a really nice and friendly HR lady over Zoom. It was a super relaxed and informal chat, so I didn't feel nervous at all. I actually spent about half the time asking her questions, which she was happy to answer. Since she was in HR, she couldn't really get into the technical stuff. She gave me positive feedback right after and then emailed me the next day to offer me the job.
