I applied online and within about 45 minutes, I got a call inviting me for an interview later that same week. I had to go in dressed in black for the interview, which went really well. The person interviewing me was very nice, and we ended up just chatting about makeup and animal testing. Then, I had to go out onto the sales floor and do a role play with the manager (who wasn't the person who initially interviewed me). I had to try and sell her the face mask that was most suited to what she wanted. The mask range was new and I was given very little information about them, which made it quite hard but I just had to go with it. After that, they asked me to stand in the store greeting people, but I ended up tidying up the displays because I was so nervous and didn't know what to do with my hands. When the store became quieter again, they said I could go and that they'd be in touch in the next few days. A few hours later, I got an email saying I hadn't got the job.

The interviewer told me over the phone to "wear all black" for my trial shift and interview. I wore black skinny jeans, a black jumper and Chelsea boots. On arrival I was lectured on how appropriate my outfit was and asked why I wasn't wearing smart wear, after telling the interviewer I was told "all black" over the phone she was very condescending and told me I'd misunderstood her. I hadn't.

I sent in my application and they said they'd get back to me the following week. Sure enough, I heard from them on the second week and had an interview. It went well! So far, I've had one personal interview, and I'm anticipating a second one, or maybe the final offer.
