The interview process was quite smooth, involving several rounds. The questions weren't too difficult, mostly leaning towards easy ones, and there was ample time to inquire about the company and the engineering culture. Throughout all the rounds, it felt more like a two-way conversation.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process involved Pymetrics, then a Pymetrics interview, followed by a Hackerrank assessment, and then a First Round and a Final Round. I was asked questions about my age, sex, and gender, and what I aspired to be in the future. It was a really great experience working with such dedicated and hardworking people in the cs field, it was truly humbling.

Technical Behavioral Presentation

Got an employee referral for Blackstone in late October and was set up for an on-site interview. There were three technical questions, and I crushed one, messed up the second a bit, and really struggled with the third. The interviewer was awesome though, super patient and helped me figure it out, but I still wasn't sure how I did. After a week of no follow-up, I figured I didn't get it. Then, at the end of November, 30 days after the first interview, I got an email for a Superday, which was only two days away. Kind of annoying I didn't get more notice, but I went. It was about 3-4 hours long with three interviews back-to-back-to-back: first a mix of technical and behavioral, then pure technical, then behavioral/descriptive. After that, we had a keynote presentation about a project, maybe to see what questions we'd ask, and then a nice lunch with developers. I think I really botched the last interview, my behavioral answers were a mess, so definitely don't slack on preparing those. My technical interview felt pretty solid. Expected to hear back in a week, but nothing. Waited three weeks, then emailed HR. Got a quick call 20 minutes later saying I didn't make it. Pretty disappointing not to get a proper rejection email after making it to Superday, and honestly, more than 48 hours notice for the Superday would've been nice too. So, the whole thing left a bad taste, even though the actual interview content was good.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • For the Superday technical question, how would you efficiently toggle a range of lights on and off given the start and end of the range?
  • How would you toggle a range of lights on and off most efficiently, given an array of lights and two numbers for the range start and end?
