The interview process started with twelve online games from pymetrics, which are more like situational judgement and trait tests to see if you match the company values and desired characteristics. After that, there was an online hirevue interview.

I went through a few rounds at Blackstone for this role. First, I talked to a VP, then another VP, then an Associate, and then an Assistant VP. The last step was with HR, and they said I'd know something within a day. But even after checking in a week later, I never heard back. It was a bummer not to get a response, especially for a role like this and after putting in so much effort. I mean, at least an update or some feedback would be nice. A quick email would've been easy and shown some respect. For such a big company, the way it all ended felt pretty unprofessional. I hope they get better at communicating with candidates, because the interviews themselves were actually pretty good and organized, but the not knowing what happened really left a bad taste.

It was a pretty standard interview with some behavioral questions and specific questions about secondaries. They also asked about general PE concepts like the investment lifecycle, liquidity, and debt. It was a good experience overall, and not much prep was needed beyond reviewing those topics.
