My interviewer was driving in the car and was totally distracted, just firing off random questions. He was cutting in and out and dropped off the call multiple times because of bad cell service. It was the worst interview I've ever had, showing a total lack of respect for my time.

The first interview was mainly about my past experience. They had me walk them through my resume, then asked about previous projects and any deal experience I had. They also threw in a few high-level technical questions related to infrastructure investing.

The interview process was very accommodating. Even though the MD had a busy schedule, they made time for me and provided several date/time options for the phone interview. The interviewer was friendly, and the interview was fast-paced with direct questions. They seemed to size me up quickly, which I appreciated due to the speed and directness, with no time for small talk. It caught me off guard but in a good way, as it showed the firm operates with a direct, no-waste-of-time approach. Despite my non-traditional background with zero finance experience, they mentioned being open to candidates with unique and unconventional backgrounds. The interviewer also offered helpful advice and recommendations, and even offered to point me in the right direction. Overall, it was a positive experience that I'd recommend, regardless of the outcome.
