First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Acquisition Group.
Customer Service Representative
I had a face to face interview that was pretty easy. The second stage was also a breeze. I declined the offer though because the job title didn't really match what the job actually entailed. It was more of a sales/marketing role, and the pay was entirely commission-based, meaning I would get a percentage of the products I sold.
- What do I know about the group?
- How will I handle criticism?
- Describe my previous role.
Customer Service Representative
I got there 5 minutes early and called like I was supposed to, but it went to voicemail. So I waited another ten minutes before calling again (still waiting to be let in, and it had passed my interview time) and got a text saying they were in an important group conference call and to text unless extremely urgent. I texted my name and why I was there and got no response. After waiting a total of 20 minutes I was let inside and told to sit and wait. Another 30 minutes passed before I was interviewed- but not for the position I applied for/the one they contacted me about. They interviewed me for a commission based position in marketing, not the one in the ad. It was a quick, very vague interview and I wasn’t given time at the end to ask any questions, although I was invited back for a second interview which I will be emailing to politely decline.
- What are the top 3 reasons a business might fail?
Customer Service Representative
I went to the office in downtown Calgary and had to wait about an hour for the manager to show up. He apologized and then interviewed me and another person. During the interview, he let me know that the job was actually sales, which I didn't like. I went through with the interview and was asked back for a second one. In the second interview, I learned they were actually looking to hire junior marketing executives.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- What are your best qualities?
- Tell me about your strong characteristics.
