Account Executive
It was an easy interview process, with both online and offline interview options available. The process was streamlined and easy to understand. They asked good questions and had good judgment. The interview was friendly. There was a question paper, a group discussion, and a personal interview. Everything was on time.
- What are your thoughts on remote work arrangements?
Account Executive
It was a lot, honestly. First, two calls with recruiters, then an online test. I passed that and then met with two AEs. The first AE was cool, but the second one seemed junior and wasn't hitting goal. She spent the whole interview talking about herself, twisting her hair, and asking super weird questions. I got an email saying they weren't moving forward, and then they gave me two totally different reasons why.
- What contributes to your success in your roles?
- What motivates your interest in joining our company?
- Can you demonstrate your understanding of this role?
Account Executive
The interview process started with a phone call with an external recruiter who was nice and helpful. Then, I had a phone interview with a recruiter from Thanx. This recruiter spent most of the time discussing the company and asked some basic questions about my experience. Next, I had to complete an online assessment. Following that, I had another phone interview with the sales manager in Denver. This manager rescheduled our call three times. When we finally spoke, she was late because she was ordering from Amazon. She explained she had only been in the role for three weeks, the company had just moved offices, and she was stressed from back-to-back interviews. She frequently asked if I had any questions. Since I had already had two interviews, I didn't have many, but I did ask about the sales goals and their attainability. She seemed unsure, mentioning that everyone was on track for September except for the August goals. She then outlined the next steps: an in-person interview with an Account Manager and a 20-minute presentation for office staff. The overall process felt excessive for what is likely a $45k/year job, especially since no one seems to be hitting their sales targets. Both recruiters mentioned an OTE of around $84k, but given the Denver sales manager's comments, it seems they are hiring aggressively. They also have new funding and seem to be hiring to see who stays, as they are offering a two-week training class for new Account Executives. I'd suggest downloading the app to understand the product better, though its originality is questionable and it relies on merchant employees to promote it. The app appears to be another tool for collecting consumer data.
- Can you describe your experience with phone-based sales?
- What's your strategy for cold calling?
- Tell me about your background.
