Software Engineer
Seriously, don't even bother with this company. My experience was exactly the same as what other recent interviewers have posted. It started with an intro call with their engineering director, which lasted about 30 minutes. Then, I was given a take-home challenge where I had to build an app with both backend and frontend components. Finally, I just got a generic rejection message. If you're putting serious effort into the take-home, expect to spend 3-5 hours on it, maybe more if you want to make it really polished. Getting rejected with no feedback after putting in that much time feels really disrespectful, and it makes me wonder what it's like to actually work there.

Full Stack Engineer
I was first contacted by the Head of Engineering via a recruiting platform. We had a good call about the company and my goals, which lasted an hour. Then, I had a technical screen with an Engineer. He started by chatting and making me comfortable, then gave me a short coding problem to warm up and check fundamentals. After that, he presented a real-world OOP problem to assess my thinking and OOP skills. Next was a call with the Head of Talent Acquisition. This felt like another culture fit chat, mostly getting to know each other, aligning goals, and checking my status with other companies. They were flexible with scheduling the onsite but wanted to move fast if it went well. The onsite itself was about 4 hours, with 1:1s and a product demo with various leaders including the CEO. There were also 2.5 hours of technical sessions: a problem-solving session with an Engineer involving culture fit, whiteboard problem-solving, and pair programming, and a system design session with the Technical Co-founder, which was also a culture fit interview and a whiteboard session for a system design problem. They emphasized they weren't looking for perfection but wanted to understand me, how we'd work together, and my technical depth. Culture fit was important, but they seemed to value mutual fit over a specific mold. The process felt thoughtful, with realistic questions designed to understand my thinking and work style. I often felt like I was just having conversations about business, tech, and culture, not an interview. Even when I stumbled, they were encouraging and supportive. I received positive feedback on my communication and honesty, and then got an offer. It was a great experience.

Sales Development Representative
My experience interviewing with Thanx was really great. Usually, interviews are long and annoying with slow communication, and I often feel left in the dark. But with Thanx, every recruiter and employee I talked to was super responsive and respected my time and theirs. They gave me tons of info about the company, product, and role. The interviewers were knowledgeable and organized, making it easy to grasp everything. Thanx was a welcome change from the usual drawn-out interview hassle.

Customer Success Manager
The interview process involved multiple rounds and a take home assignment. My first 2 interviews went really well — when it came to the assignment I spent a lot of time putting together sides and preparing. I was given a mock situation with data to use to prepare. When I got to the panel interview one of the interviewers asked me questions that were completely conflicting with the data they gave me to study. This was extremely frustrating and while I tried to pivot, I didn’t feel comfortable noting the conflicting information and did my best.
- Tell me about a situation where you had to manage expectations because a deadline was at risk of being missed.
