Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Textron.
Software Engineer Intern
The interview process was quite straightforward. They primarily inquired about my personal background and past work experiences, focusing on details present in my resume. Technical questions were minimal.
- Could you describe a situation where you faced and overcame a challenge?
Software Engineer
It's a pretty laid-back interview process. You'll start with some casual chats about you and your past work. If you make it through that first part, you'll move on to a second round with the senior lead and some of the staff.
- Can you tell me about your experience at X company?
Software Engineer
I went to my university's career fair and they called me the next day for an interview. It was a 2:1 interview with the two reps I met there. They mostly wanted to get to know me and how I'd interact in different scenarios. I also got to ask them a lot of questions. The interview was mostly behavioral, focusing on my resume. They asked me about my recent projects in my Computer Science classes and to explain the difference between Linked Bags and Array Bags since that was my most recent project. The next step is a phone interview with a Hiring Manager in 2-3 weeks.
- Could you tell me about your most challenging course and the reasons behind it?
- Can you explain the distinction between Linked Bags and Array Bags?
