First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Textron.
Electrical Engineer Intern
The initial interview was a mix of technical electronics questions and behavioral STAR-based questions. It was designed to check my problem-solving abilities and how I handle interpersonal situations, while also seeing if I could communicate well and give structured answers when things got intense.
- Can you introduce yourself?
Electrical Engineer
I interviewed for Textron's GSE program. It started with a 30-minute phone call with a recruiter. Then, there was a 30-minute group panel with the management team. They really dug into my resume and wanted to hear about all my engineering projects. They seemed to prefer candidates with passion projects over just classroom assignments, always asking if something was done for a class or just for fun. It was a bit disappointing to get two rejection notices, one saying the position was canceled and another saying someone else was chosen. The lack of clear communication really affected my experience.
- What is your motivation for seeking employment at Textron?
- Can you elaborate on your engineering projects?
- Did you complete this project as part of a course or out of personal interest?
Electrical Engineer
Textron has old job postings. They post jobs hoping to fill them internally, usually after big layoffs. They reject external candidates for minor reasons, hoping to move an internal employee into the role. It's possible they use AI to filter resumes before even looking at candidates.
