Design Verification Engineer
I'm moving internally to a new role as a full-time Design Verification Engineer, coming from an intern validation role. The interview was quite simple, just one round with two interviewers, the hiring manager and another colleague. They asked me some questions and I had to draw my answers using Paint.
- Can you explain a low pass filter?
- What is the output voltage of an inverting op amp?
- Could you identify the high frequency component of a PWM signal?
System Verification Engineer
The interview process was pretty tough. They first looked at my projects and asked a lot about why I picked certain parts, why I wanted specific specs, and what other choices I had. They really wanted to see if I understood my project inside and out. After that, they moved on to some questions about analog and digital electronics. If you did well in that first part, you then moved on to the HR round.
- Tell me about the specific feedback circuit in your project and why you chose that particular feedback.
- If a different rating was provided for the resistor, what adjustments would be necessary for the circuit?
Validation Engineer
The interview had simple questions about circuit theory and sampling frequency. We talked for about 45 minutes. We discussed the impedance for a voltmeter and ammeter and how to connect them in different circuits for precise readings.
- Regarding an unknown resistance, describe how to construct a circuit to determine its value using a voltmeter and an ammeter.
