- Tell me about your experience related to this position.
- Can you describe a situation where you had to deal with [specific program-related challenge]?
- How would you approach [a hypothetical scenario relevant to the program specialist role]?
Specialist
I interviewed for two different jobs. Both of them included several panel interviews and a skills test. The interviews themselves were pretty normal, and everyone I spoke with was very nice and professional. But honestly, I wouldn't suggest applying here. Each department made me do multiple interviews and then wouldn't even send an email to let me know what was going on. When I tried to follow up, the interview committee just ignored me. I felt like they totally disrespected my time and weren't professional at all.
- Can you share an instance where you had to handle a challenging situation?
Program Specialist
I was given some questions 15 minutes before the interview to prepare. There was also an In-Basket assignment that needed to be completed either before or after the interview, with a 1-hour time limit for completion and submission. They made sure I felt comfortable and gave me an overview of the team I might join and what a typical day in the role looks like.
- Can you describe a situation where you had to manage conflict among a work group? Explain your approach and what you took away from the experience.
