Started with a video call from a recruiter who wasn't local. They seemed pretty excited and explained the company benefits and growth potential for about 15 minutes. I was then invited for an onsite interview about two weeks later, which was also set up over the phone. The confirmation email said I'd meet three people, but I only met one. We interviewed in a conference room, and they didn't give me a lab tour like I was expecting. I was asked some general questions like "why here" and some technical ones about lab safety and instruments. The interviewer was nice but didn't seem familiar with my resume. It felt like they already had a candidate and this was just a formality.

Behavioral Technical

So, I had an interview for a Senior Scientist position. They asked some basic formulation questions and also some about soft skills. They really focused on my hands-on experience with the technologies listed in the job description. The interview was a good experience overall, and they were respectful. They didn't share specific details about the ideal candidate though.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

So I started with an HR call where they were upfront about pay and benefits. Then I had a virtual chat with the hiring manager. They asked some technical stuff, but mostly focused on my experience. After that, I got invited for an on-site pretty quickly. The whole day was spent on-site, kicking off with a 30-minute presentation which took up a full hour slot with Q&A. Then I had one-on-one chats with a bunch of scientists and directors from different levels. The questions were a mix of experience, technical, and behavioral. They even threw in lunch and a lab tour. All in all, a pretty typical setup. They did mention they'd had some restructuring lately and the job was on hold, so we'll see.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Describe your approach to troubleshooting process-related problems.
