First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tetra Tech.
Mechanical Engineer
I went through a phone screen and then an in-person interview. The whole process took about three weeks. They offered the final interview as either an in-person meeting or a video call. Overall, it was a good experience. HR was a bit slow to respond sometimes. The interview was conducted online via Teams.
- What motivated your application to Tetra Tech?
Mechanical Engineer
I applied online for a position at their Ann Arbor, MI office. The very next day, a regional HR rep emailed me and we set up an in-person interview for about a week and a half later. When I arrived at the office, the person I was scheduled to interview with wasn't there, so I ended up interviewing with two other staff engineers instead. The two engineers were pretty friendly and didn't ask any super tough questions. The interview lasted a little over an hour, and they gave me a tour of the office afterward. This was right before Thanksgiving, so they said they'd let me know something the following week. That was the last I heard from them. I sent an immediate thank you email, but I didn't follow up much because I wasn't that invested in the job. However, I saw another reviewer who interviewed at the same office and also never heard back, which I agree is super discourteous and unprofessional. Since it happened to both of us, it seems like this is how they do things at this particular office. I'd see this as a warning sign for anyone thinking about working for or doing business with this branch.
- What would your first assignment ideally be?
Mechanical Engineer
Applied via email. HR handled the communication, but I didn't connect with the hiring manager. The interview itself felt relaxed and enjoyable, leaving me with a positive impression. I got good news after about a week, but the official job offer took four months, by which time I had accepted another position.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- Can you share your experience with project leadership?
