Software Tester
I went through an interview process for a Software Tester position but unfortunately didn't get the offer. It started with a screening call, then a technical interview where they asked about testing concepts and automation, followed by a behavioral interview. I found it tough to write test cases and debug effectively. The feedback indicated that the person who got the job had stronger automation skills. I need to focus on improving my practical automation abilities and how I explain my test cases for future job applications.
- Can you outline how you would create test cases for a login feature with fields for email, password, and a 'Remember Me' option?
Software Tester
The interview process involves one 40-minute round. If selected, candidates will need strong knowledge of scripting and programming languages like PowerShell, Python, Java, and C++. Experience is needed in testing front-end, back-end, and API components for cloud-based and/or client/server products. Around 3 years of professional software automation experience (Selenium WebDriver), UI automation, API automation, and Typescript testing experience is desired. Candidates should have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Strong knowledge of Agile development practices (especially Scrum), methodologies, and tools is important. Expertise in database concepts and testing using SQL/NoSQL is required. Experience with web services like REST/SOAP API test automation is a plus. Performance and functional test automation experience, along with web-based testing tools such as Cucumber, Selenium, and Protractor, is needed. Familiarity with SCM tools like Git and CI/CD tools like Jenkins is also expected.
- Could you start by telling me a little about yourself?
