First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tesla.
Quality Engineer
Very nice and very fast. I reached the last interview with the Senior Director. He asked me how to launch a battery assembly line. I explained but not enough I guess. Quality manager was great and the team was also amazing. Very technical and deep conversations.
- Tell me about yourself a bit.
- Describe a situation that you have been involved in.
- Give me an example of a challenge you had to face.
Quality Engineer
During the HR screening round, the recruiter was totally unfocused and hadn’t really read my resume or understood my experience. The technical round felt more like an interrogation than an interview. I was even interrupted when I was talking about my work experience.
- Questions were mostly concentrated on the production side.
- What do you understand by Cpk, Cp?
- What exactly is an emotor?
Quality Engineer
Recruiter then Hiring Manager followed by a panel then 2 more interviewers to test my Python Skills to check my data interpretation abilities in generating dashboard plots. Time wasted in preparation with extra interviewers even after being selected in the panel. Recruiters language on giving me the offer was confusing.
- 1. Battery functional checks on the production line.
- 2. How did you use Python in your work.
- 3. how is the tradeoff between line balancing and quality done ?
