I was recently invited to a phone interview that lasted about 12 minutes. The interviewer moved into the questions very quickly, without really trying to get to know me or build any rapport. I had expected a short introduction or some conversation to help set the tone, but the interview stayed very focused and straight to the point. While I do like the efficiency, it came across as a bit rushed, and I didn’t have much chance to fully share my qualifications, experiences, or interest in the job. It also made it hard for me to get a clearer sense of the company culture or how the team works.

I had three rounds of interviews: first HR, then the hiring manager, then a panel of 5 people on site. You also need to do a 30-minute presentation before the panel interview. Most of the interviewers are very nice (especially the female leaders) and mainly focus on my resume experiences, but I remember one interviewer from the technical team kept challenging me during the whole interview because I don’t have experience in the electronics industry. The workplace is newly furnished and I could definitely smell it, and I saw some employees not eating during lunch time, so I can imagine they work really hard. Overall it’s a good experience for me, just be prepared for the workload.

Skill Assessment: Depending on the job, candidates might need to take tests or do assignments to evaluate their skills and knowledge. 5. Behavioral Interviews: More in-depth interviews are held to understand the candidate’s behavior, problem-solving skills, and how well they match the company’s values and culture. 6. Technical Interviews: For roles that are technical, candidates may have technical interviews to measure their expertise and problem-solving ability in their specific field. 7. Panel Interview: Some companies use panel interviews where several interviewers evaluate the candidate at the same time. 8. Final Interview: Candidates who make it to the end may have a final round of interviews with senior executives or important stakeholders.
