Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tesla Tecnologia e Comunicação.
Process Engineer
The job is in Germany (Berlin) but the interview is in English. German skills and work experience are not particularly important. Very slow and boring. The interviewer didn't have enough information about the job. High work experience isn't important at Tesla.
- Why did you choose our company?
Process Engineer
The interview process was quite involved. It started with three phone calls: one with a recruiter, then the hiring manager, and finally a lead engineer. After that, I had a Teams meeting with five Tesla engineers. I gave a 30-minute presentation about a project I worked on, which was followed by individual interviews with each of those five engineers. The questioning didn't seem to follow a strict format, mostly just conversational discussions about my past work.
- Given 30 seconds with Elon Musk, what are the top 3 complex problems you've solved that you would describe to him?
Manufacturing Engineer
The interview started with a "tell me about yourself" and then dove deep into my resume, specifically each project. They also asked some mechanical engineering questions, covering topics like tolerance, mechanical properties, and design software tools.
- Can you discuss your background and walk me through the projects on your resume?
- Could you explain concepts related to mechanical engineering, such as tolerance, mechanical properties, and design software tools?
- How would you go about setting tolerances for a SolidWorks drawing?
