It began with a quick chat with the recruiter, then I had a technical interview with a manufacturing engineer and the hiring manager. They asked about my previous manufacturing experience, how I approach problems, and how I work with hardware. The conversation was pretty laid-back and direct. I got an offer not too long after.

The interview process started with a 1st phone screening with HR. Then there was a 2nd Technical Interview on the phone with the Manager. The final stage was an Onsite Panel Interview, and if all went well, the company would then offer the position. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone, it felt like a total waste of my precious time. Although the interview with the Manager was supposed to be technical, not a single technical question was asked. It was obvious the company wasn't doing well from the Manager's lack of technical understanding. The interview actually went really well, but the feedback I got was that my experience and skills were strong, but the Manager was looking for someone with prior spacecraft experience, despite it not being on my resume. He still decided to waste his and my time.

The interview process involved a phone interview with the Hiring Manager, followed by a phone interview with the Lead Mechanical Engineer. Then there was an in-person panel interview, which felt disorganized. Initially, I met with the Lead Mechanical Engineer, which went well. Following that, I had interviews with three separate engineers of varying expertise. Two of them seemed disinterested, while one was pleasant and engaging. They asked basic technical questions and about past projects. Finally, there was a follow-up with the Lead Mechanical Engineer. Ultimately, after several rounds, I was not selected. I felt that by the first interview, it should have been clear if I was a good fit, and the process felt like a waste of time.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • A take-home test was assigned, which included questions on thermal and stress analysis, as well as a design question. This test was extremely lengthy and detailed, making me question whether its purpose was to assess my knowledge or to obtain free design work.

This was a nightmare. I spoke with a recruiter who seemed very interested and wanted to do a screening. They scheduled a phone call, but then they no-called and no-showed. They texted an apology six hours later and scheduled another call, which they also no-called and no-showed for. I was traveling, so I gave them my availability. The recruiter told me when to call her, and she hung up on me four times. After waiting two days, I emailed to see if they still wanted to talk, and they just said 'come on site next week.' When I asked if they would cover my travel, the recruiter seemed confused and didn't realize I wasn't local, even though they had all my information. Two weeks later, I finally had a call with the hiring manager. He was twenty minutes late, although I was warned about this. He seemed very bored and like the interview was a burden. The whole experience left a really bad impression.
