Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Terracon.
Engineer Technician
Had a fun, conversational interview. It was a basic interview where they asked about my experience with testing and driving abilities. The job is about being a material tester for residential places. We also talked about Terracon for Syracuse in the future.
- Do you have experience with testing?
- What about your driving abilities?
Lab Technician
The interview had three senior folks and the Lab Manager I would be reporting to. It wasn't really stressful, more focused on if I could do the job. It all went pretty smoothly.
- What are your long-term career aspirations with this company?
Engineering Technician
I applied online and was contacted by Terracon for a field technician role, though it was at an office 50 miles away. I was hesitant at first, but given it was during the Great Recession, I needed a solid job. The interview itself was pretty straightforward; my resume was strong, and I got an offer. However, the starting pay was lower than my experience warranted. I accepted the job, hoping to get a raise to a more standard rate within a couple of years.
- Are you okay with being away from your family?
- Do you foresee getting divorced soon?
- Would you accept a salary lower than your previous earnings?
