Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Teradata.
Data Scientist
The interview involved a walkthrough of past projects. I was asked about every project on my resume, covering both the business and technical sides. Follow-up questions were asked. There were two interview rounds, each lasting 45 minutes.
- Could you tell me about a project you are most proud of from your previous work?
- Describe a past project, focusing on both business and technical aspects.
- What were the business and technical details of your previous projects?
Data Scientist
The interview and recruitment process was pretty bad. I got like 4+ invites from different HR people, and each time the process just stopped. I had three technical interviews, and each one took over 4 hours on average. It was a rough experience because the interviewers weren't professional and were arrogant. They also disturbed each other during the interviews. Plus, a lot of other weird, bad stuff happened.
- Can you explain logistic regression?
- Tell me about neural networks.
- What are transformers in the context of data?
Data Science Intern
I heard back within a week of applying. A recruiter reached out for a phone screen, and we talked about the interview process and what the hiring manager is looking for. There were basic screening questions similar to what's in the job description. I didn't hear back for another round.
- Can you describe your experience with SQL and Python?
- Regarding work authorization, do you have it?
