So, the hiring process here at Templafy for engineers is pretty thorough. You start with like a 1-hour assignment, then there's a general assessment, and a cultural interview. After that, you'll do two technical interviews. I know it sounds like a lot, but everyone here is super knowledgeable and really friendly, so it's a good vibe.

Technical Coding

It started with a recruiter call where we did introductions and talked about my background and how the interviews would go. Then I had a test assignment that was about OOPS concepts. After that, there was a tech interview where we discussed projects from my resume. The tricky part was when they showed me some really bad React code and I had to find the problems. I couldn't change the code, which made it hard to know if I should assume previous issues were fixed when trying to solve new ones. They seemed to be pushing OOPS into React way too hard, so much that they couldn't even explain what they did to the code. The recruiter was helpful the whole way through.

First, there was an HR meeting. Then, I did a 20-30 minute online coding challenge. After that, there were two code reviews: one was 1 hour for a Basic C# project with 2 engineers, and the other was 1 hour for an ASP.Net API project with 1 engineer. Next, I had a 1-hour culture fit interview with a director and a manager. Finally, I talked with the CEO for 30 minutes. Even though I passed all the steps, HR said they over-hired and wouldn't be hiring me. She mentioned adding me on LinkedIn for future roles, but I never got any invites. It felt unprofessional and like a waste of time, especially with the false promises at the end.

We had a lot of interviews with different team members, and they asked the usual 'strengths and weaknesses' and 'biggest achievement' type questions. It was kinda disappointing because none of the questions really touched on what they actually expect from the role, their day-to-day responsibilities, or their management style. They asked the same stuff whether you were talking to mid-management or c-level folks. They also made me take a personality test at the end.
