Product Manager
The interview process started with a phone screen, followed by an onsite interview. Then there was another round of onsite interviews. After the second onsite round, I never heard back. No positive or negative response was given, the company just stopped communicating. I guess it is the company's practice not to get back to candidates if there is no interest. I have generally heard back from companies whether it is a positive or negative response; this experience was a bit odd.
- Can you brainstorm a product idea and then outline its requirements document, either in hard or soft copy?
Product Manager
So, I had this quick 5 minute phone screen, and then they said I'd get an in-person interview. After emailing the hiring manager a bit, HR got in touch to set up the in-person. I met with 5 different people one-on-one in a meeting room. They asked me stuff like how I'd improve their product, how I'd get my manager to agree to a change, and what I do for fun. Never heard back from the hiring manager about their decision though.
- How would you improve their product?
- What would you do to convince your manager to implement a certain change?
- What are your hobbies?
Product Manager
Bait-and-Switch!!!! Beware! Started with a 30 minute call with the recruiter, then a 30 minute call with the hiring manager. Recruiter call seemed good, mentioned a follow-up interview with the hiring manager in the next few days, but that took 3 weeks! When HR set up the interview, the title changed to Sr Product Manager. When asked, neither recruiter nor HR would reply. During the interview, the hiring manager tried to confuse me with smoke and mirrors, but it became clear they were hiring a product manager. I was ghosted after that.
