First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Telefónica.
Account Manager
First there was a relaxed 30-minute video call to get to know each other, the motivation and the rough framework. This was followed by an in-depth technical discussion with the team lead, where I had to prove my expertise in complex B2B sales and strategies for key accounts. This was often followed by a practical case study or a final management interview focusing on cultural fit and long-term goal planning.
- Can you outline your first 90 days in this role and detail your strategy for penetrating your region's market with our complex B2B solutions, such as IoT or 5G?
Key Account Manager
3 interview stages. First, the recruiter. Then, the Madrid office. Up to this point very positive, constant feedback. The last in-person interview at the Barcelona office. The bittersweet feeling, I feel like some answers were not expected. After the interview, I sent an email to thank the department head for their time. So far (more than 6 months) I haven't received a response. I haven't received any response from the recruiter either, or from anyone. Feedback 0. Response 0.
- Please describe your sales process.
Account Manager
Short phone interview. After that, a long wait until I proactively asked for an update. The rejection is totally fine, but please show some appreciation for the applicants. HR seemed a bit unenthusiastic, or at least gave that impression. Could also be the specific interviewer, though.
- What motivates you to switch jobs and what is important to you?
- Why are you looking to change roles and what are your priorities?
