First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Teledyne Technologies.
Software Engineer
So the interview wasn't too hard. They didn't ask any technical questions, mostly just went over my resume. They asked for more details about the technologies and programming languages I've used. What made this a bad experience was how disorganized and unprofessional they were. I interviewed around February/March and never heard back. I followed up, and they said they were still deciding. Two months went by. They said they'd get back to me again, and another month passed with no word. Really unprofessional.
- Can you talk about what's on your resume?
- Can you elaborate on the technologies and programming languages you've used?
- What does your resume say?
Software Engineer
I applied through their website and then a recruiter called me to set up a phone interview for the next week. The following week, I had a 30-minute phone interview with a senior engineer. We discussed my background and projects, and they asked me some general software development questions and a few basic technical terms. The day after the call, the recruiter contacted me again to schedule the on-site interview.
- Imagine you have C code that reads from a register in a loop and is supposed to exit when a specific value is encountered, but it keeps running indefinitely. What could be causing this issue?
Software Engineer
So first I talked to the hiring manager and their supervisor. It was a pretty standard interview where they asked me about my school work, previous work experiences and some logic questions. Then I met with the software engineer director. Lastly, I had an interview with the HR recruiter. The HR person contacted me a few days later with an offer letter.
- How do you approach a problem when you're unsure of the solution?
