Technical Behavioral Other

I found the role on LinkedIn after a recruiter reached out. First, there was an online iOS skills test that took a few days to prep for. Then, I talked to a manager about manual testing, not much programming. That role didn't work out, so I interviewed again for a programming job. They asked when I could start, and I said about five business days. They said they'd pass it on, but I never heard back. My advice: prepare for both coding and manual testing interviews. Online tests are common early on. Make sure to ask about what happens next and when you'll hear back, because follow-up communication can be spotty.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Could you discuss general manual testing scenarios and best practices?
  • Can you detail your approach to manual testing, including key essentials, edge cases, and potential gotchas in a test-plan-level response?
  • What is your availability for interviews, and when could you potentially start if offered the position?

Technical Behavioral

So I had to do this technical assessment first, which was given by a third-party company. After I passed that, I got on a call with the recruiter. It was weird because even though I had already sent my resume, they asked me to send it again, which made me think they didn't even look at it before sending the assessment. The recruiter spent half the call asking me stuff like why I can relocate, why I want to, if my family is cool with it, why I'd accept less pay (even though they wouldn't say what the salary was, just that it was less), and why I don't want to work in my home country, with a bunch of follow-up 'why' questions. They seemed really distracted, like they were doing other things. It was clear they hadn't read my resume because they asked me a bunch of questions that were already in it. Honestly, the whole thing felt disorganized, unprofessional, and like a waste of time. They ask irrelevant questions, don't bother with your resume, and make you do a 2-hour assessment.

Behavioral Technical Coding System Design

So first up, there's like this initial screening, basically a recruiter chat for about 30-45 mins, they wanna see your background, resume, past work, and why you're even applying. Sometimes they throw in basic tech or behavioral questions. Then you move to an online assessment, usually on CodeSignal or HackerRank, where you gotta solve like 3-4 coding problems in 60-90 mins, testing your data structures, algorithms, string manipulation, dynamic programming, and general problem-solving chops. After that, it's 1-2 technical interviews, each about 45-60 mins, done over Zoom or sometimes in person for the final stages. They'll hit you with coding challenges, pretty much LeetCode medium style, and for mid/senior folks, system design is a big part of it too. They also check your OOP, design patterns, web tech, and database knowledge. Then there's a behavioral interview, usually with a manager or senior engineer, where they're digging into your soft skills, leadership, how you work in a team, and if you vibe with the company values, using that STAR method. Finally, the hiring manager round, the last step before an offer, which is a mix of technical, behavioral, and situational stuff, talking about your past projects and how they fit the role, maybe a live coding or system design bit. It's pretty moderate to hard, the OA and tech interviews are tough but doable if you grind LeetCode medium/hard and know your system design.

  • How do you manage disagreements within a team setting?
  • Can you elaborate on a past project and its relevance to this position?
