First, I had a recruiter call on the phone that lasted around 20 minutes. After that, there was a panel interview with 3 people from the client company over Microsoft Teams. They asked standard questions about my past experience, what my long-term goals are, and why I think I'd be a good fit for the role.

I interviewed for a help desk job. The video interview was organized and the recruiter communicated well. I thought my skills were a good fit. The interview itself was okay, but one interviewer seemed difficult, asking tricky questions even when I was on the right track, almost like they wanted to reject me. I couldn't get the interviewers' emails, so I sent a thank you note through the recruiter. I didn't get any feedback, though the recruiter passed my thanks on. The job was an indefinite contract, which is unusual in my field; contracts are usually 3, 6, or 12 months. If hired, I would have had to apply for a permanent position later, which some people wait years for. Given my experience, I would have done well. The pay was also lower than expected for an on-site help desk role, similar to what I made five years ago with less experience. I'm in a similar role now, directly hired, and earning much more. I don't see why there'd be a technical interview for low pay and strange contract terms, especially since my resume and interview answers show my experience. Overall, my experience with the recruiter and the agency was good, but I'd avoid this specific client unless it was a direct hire or had better contract terms.

The interview process included a Talent Representative from TEKsystems asking questions about IT troubleshooting and hypothetical problem scenarios. I was very familiar with the questions as my previous job involved most of these basic situations. I have a lot of experience with the Remedy Ticketing system. My prior job at Maxim mainly dealt with Active Directory and Exchange issues, so I was comfortable answering questions about those.
