Got a call from the recruiter for the Engineering Manager role. The interview round was focused on LLD for managers. The interviewer, who claimed to be a manager but appeared to be in an IC role based on their profile, asked two questions. The first was a Leetcode problem about collecting water between columns. The interviewer provided an array of data and asked for the computation without much clarification, only repeating the question when asked for hints. I got stuck and asked to move on. The second question involved building a feature for nested comments. Initially, the interviewer said a basic version and pseudocode in React would suffice, but later expected a working prototype. The overall impression was that the interviewer was disengaged and seemed to be going through the motions. The experience felt disrespectful, like the interviewer was trying to assert authority rather than assess the candidate collaboratively. I gave this feedback to the recruiter, who acknowledged it but didn't offer much reassurance.

So, the interview had three rounds. The first was a problem-solving round where we talked about HLD and how I'd approach a specific scenario. Then there was a second round, also HLD. The last one was a managerial round with general questions about my past experience, like how I've handled tough situations as a manager. I got good feedback from the manager, but then I tried reaching out to HR multiple times with no response, not even a rejection. Everything else was fine, just the lack of feedback after the final round was a bummer.
