So there were three interviews in total: first, a chat with HR, then a one-hour HackerRank test you do offline, followed by a screen-share coding interview with some other data scientists, and then a final interview with my future manager where we talked about my career and past data science work.

It was a short interview, under 30 minutes. The people were really nice and understanding. Since it was for a co-op position, the questions weren't too hard. First, I talked to the recruiting team (HR), and then I met with the department manager.

The first stage involved two tests: HackerRank and a personality (basic skills) test. The HackerRank test had 3 MCQs (Stats, Python, SQL), 2 easy SQL questions with Joins, 1 hard SQL question needing multiple tables and Union, and a time series prediction problem. I was pretty disappointed with the HackerRank time series question, as it didn't specify how to approach it or which library to import. The personality test included word formation, pattern recognition, and some behavioral questions where honesty was stressed. The second round was a phone interview with the Hiring Recruiter, who wasn't technical but still asked technical questions. It was unclear how they assessed my performance, and the recruiter couldn't clarify the questions or expected answers when I asked. They seemed rude and focused on whether I knew specific technologies, essentially looking for someone senior who needs no training. The expectations were very high for the posted role.
