Had a screening call with a recruiter, then a call with the Product Manager I'd be reporting to. Followed by a small assignment to do at home, which I then presented back to the Manager and some other PMs. After that, I connected with future colleagues in Product and Engineering. The questions were hard but fair, and everyone was willing to give me good insights about the company. It was all in a relaxed atmosphere.

I got referred for the summer internship by an alum from my grad school. First, there was a recorded video screening, which was actually a pretty chill experience, honestly. Then, I had a virtual one-on-one chat with a Product Director who was super personable and really open about what's going on with the company right now. HR told me I didn't get the internship but said to keep in touch. Even though I didn't get it this time, I'm still interested in future roles here because everyone I met was so friendly.

The initial process was pretty quick, taking about 5 weeks in total. It started with a 1-hour phone interview, followed by a face-to-face interview with a head of department a week later, and then an interview with upper executives the week after that. I found the lack of communication from the recruiter really annoying, with 39 emails exchanged and me having to be the one to keep following up. The whole interview process felt unorganized and confusing, with some interviewers not even knowing who or why they were interviewing. One manager barely spent 5 minutes with me and seemed completely uninterested. It was a tough and unpleasant experience. Their salary offer was also about 30K below market range.
