I gave my resume to some representatives for Technomic at a job fair at my University. I recently graduated with a degree in Marketing, focused on marketing research. Also my family owns a restaurant that I worked at as the manager for a long time. So since this company does marketing research in the food service industry, I figured I had a great chance. I was emailed later that same day about coming in for an interview. I was told to come in very early in the morning, right as the work day began. I didn't wait very long at all and the receptionist was very friendly. I was escorted into a conference room and had several different people come to interview me, one at a time. I spoke with four different people for about a half hour each. I though it went very well. They were all friendly and I felt I answered their questions well. I felt the process was a little tedious. I had to wait about ten minutes in between each separate interview. Also I was asked a few questions over and over again. So I went home at the end feeling positive. The next day I received an email telling me that they are not hiring! UM what? Not that they were not interested in me, but they were not currently hiring! I was like well then why did they waste my day? A cousin of mine told me that sometimes companies interview to keep resumes on file for the future even if they are not currently hiring. Well my question is why was Technomic at a recent college graduate job fair? Recent graduates are looking for employment now! lol Oh well. I can't really say anything too bad about the company other than I didn't think it was very nice to have me spend my money to get there and waste my morning and afternoon if they were not even hiring! Unless they just told me that to be nice.

Applied for a full-time research analyst position, and HR reached out about a research internship, mentioning it could lead to a full-time role. Went through a phone and in-person interview. Later, HR informed me I interviewed with the wrong team and had to do a second, longer in-person interview with different people. Received an offer for a part-time internship at $14/hour, 20-29 hours/week, no benefits, with a 6-10 month waiting period for full-time. Asked for a start date two months out, and they rescinded the offer. Then, I proposed a start date a little over a month away, and after two weeks, they re-offered, but the terms were still bad. They rescinded the offer AGAIN because they were concerned I'd leave for a full-time job shortly after starting.

I had a phone interview. They said I was overqualified for the role I applied for, but they proceeded with the interview anyway. Everything seemed fine during the interview itself. However, I didn't get the job not because I was overqualified. It turned out HR made a mistake with my application. They sent me a confirmation email saying they received my application, but then HR claimed they never got my documents for the Research Assistant position. They admitted they were interviewing me for a different role that I was overqualified for. After I realized their mistake, they stopped responding to my emails, even though I was just politely asking for help.

I had a 3 step interview process. First, I talked to HR over the phone. Then, I had an in-person interview with 5 people. They all had their own questions about my passions for the industry and Technomic. Lastly, I was sent a research prompt that I had to write a proposal for and answer some questions.
