I had two interviews. The first was with a manager and the second was with a director. They both seemed to ask about my past experience in a pretty informal way. The hiring manager called me back less than an hour after the second interview. Both people I spoke with were really professional and nice.

So the whole process has 2 rounds. First, there are some introductions and small talk. Then, some information gathering, where I had to give my elevator pitch. After that, it's question/answer time. They use this to see how truthful and well-rehearsed I am by comparing my answers with different interviewers. Finally, we wrap things up.

  • Can you give us your elevator pitch?
  • Could you tell us about your previous project management experience?
  • Using a scenario, can you explain how you've handled customer escalations?

Started with a headhunter call, then a meeting with the line manager, followed by an HR telephone screening. Had a second meeting with the line manager. The process split into hard and soft skills. HR handled soft skills via a long phone chat. Hard skills involved two scenario plays, which were basically testing MS Project skills, not PMI or Prince 2.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • The line manager asked very technical questions based on MS Project, involving a scenario using the tool. Soft skills were not a focus.
