Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Technical University of Denmark.
Postdoctoral Researcher
The interview process was online and well-organized. About a month after applying, I got an email saying I was shortlisted and could pick an interview time, which was convenient. I had to prepare a 20-minute presentation on my research. The interview itself took about 45 minutes, with the presentation and then Q&A. The interviewers were nice and made me feel comfortable. It was structured and engaging. I was really disappointed with how they handled the results though. They said I'd hear back by Oct 4th, but I didn't. I emailed the coordinator on Oct 14th and was told the interviewer was on holiday until Oct 17th and would reply after. I followed up with the interviewer directly on Oct 21st, but never got a reply. This lack of follow-up was strange and disappointing. I think it's important to let candidates know the result, good or bad, so they can move on. Clear communication shows professionalism and respect for people's time.

- What questions do you have for the interview panel?
- Have you visited Denmark before?
PhD Researcher
I had two online interviews for this role, each about 30 minutes. The first one was focused on technical stuff for the job, and the second one was more HR related to the job I applied for.
- What is your motivation for applying to this role?
- Can you elaborate on your interest in this specific position?
Researcher
I applied online and had a Skype interview. It was a straightforward interview where they explained the role and asked about my previous research experience. The interviewer was a senior Professor and seemed friendly. After the interview, they asked to contact my reference writer and then informed me of my acceptance pretty quickly.
- Could you tell me about the technical aspects of your PhD?
