Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tech9.
Software Engineer
There was an online test of 90 minutes with 3 fairly complex programs. I scored 92%, which the tech guys acknowledged was very good. The technical round that followed wasn't too difficult, mostly focused on projects, patterns, and anti-patterns. They mentioned they'd get back to me with feedback, but over 45 days later, I still haven't heard anything. I've followed up, and they're asking for a few more days to provide feedback. I suspect they were seeking someone for a lower salary, which is why I wasn't selected. So, ultimately, I wasted my time on both rounds. My advice: if a candidate expects a higher salary, don't bother scheduling an interview and save everyone's time.
- Can you describe any antipatterns you are familiar with in C#?
- Regarding C#, what antipatterns do you know?
Software Engineer
The interview process included a phone screen where we discussed salary expectations, my experience, tech9, and any questions I had. Then there were two technical reviews focusing on my experience, technologies used, and projects. The third interview was with a customer, but it was for the wrong job title so it wasn't productive. The fourth interview was with the correct customer, and they explained what the job would be like and the type of work involved.
- Tell me about your work experience and how your skills from previous jobs apply here.
Software Engineer
The interview process included a recruiter call, followed by an interview with the CEO where they asked about my experience, and then a technical interview focused on specific problem-solving, like discussing solutions for micro frontend challenges.
- Could you tell me about what you developed at your previous company?
- How do you approach solving problems related to micro frontends?
