Behavioral

This was a pretty standard interview process. The recruiter was very friendly and replied to emails promptly. Since it's an intern position, they mostly asked behavioral questions, which is typical for intern interviews. Nothing too technical was involved.

Behavioral Technical Coding

The first round was okay, mostly behavioral questions with some easy general technical ones. The interviewer was nice. However, I was told the next round would be more technical and that the hiring manager prefers candidates with computer science degrees, even though I have 10+ years of experience and a web development degree from 2008. The hiring manager apparently likes to brag that even experienced candidates struggle with the second round. The second round wasn't too hard, involving variations of a simple algorithm like fizzbuzz, which I solved. It reinforced the impression that the hiring manager is a snob who really wants CS majors, disregarding actual job capability. It was a circus.

Behavioral Presentation

I traveled for the interview. They arranged for me to have a full day of meeting, mostly people junior to the role. The individuals were nice and while a lot of them weren't used to interviewing they gave nice conversations. For the more stakeholders the questions were more philosophical and leadership style. I got the sense that there is a gap in digital understanding that produced some internal politics. After the interview, I followed up with a few emails with what seemed to be some thoughtful questions. I did receive a thank you for coming from the junior HR guy, but not any form of feedback on their impressions or replies to my follow up questions. I suppose this was their way to tell me they weren't interested. After pushing them they did say they were not going to be sending an offer. I later learned they haven't really filled the role and it seemed to be one of the situations that they didn't know what they wanted to role to be.

Behavioral Technical

Such a quick and straightforward process! I started with an HR screening, then talked to the Account Manager, then 2 Account Executives, and finally the Account director. The interviews were booked within days of each other, and the process took about 2 weeks. The recruiter was very professional and responded to my emails in a timely manner. The people on the team were very professional as well.
