Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TeacherActive.
Recruitment Consultant
Applied online for the Recruitment Consultant role and my CV got shortlisted. Had a telephone interview, which was short and simple. Was told I would hear by the end of the week and that my CV would be passed onto the hiring manager. Then received an email saying my CV was not shortlisted and they couldn't provide feedback. Overall, the process felt messy and lacked communication.
- What's your reason for leaving your current job?
Recruitment Consultant
The interview process with TeacherActive was really thorough, but also super friendly. My first interview stage was professional and welcoming, but I was definitely challenged more than usual, making it tougher than expected. I left feeling nervously excited because I hadn't been questioned like that before, and it made me feel like the company was worth pursuing. As I went through the process, I really got a sense of what TeacherActive is all about and their values. They clearly want to hire the right people for the team and get them ready for the demanding work. Looking back now that I've started, I totally get why my final interview was over the phone – since I had prior face-to-face sales experience, they needed to ensure I could convey my personality effectively remotely. The whole process really helped me understand the company culture and prepared me to settle in quickly.
- My questions all centered on how I could handle the challenge of being an educational recruitment consultant.

Applied online for the Recruitment Consultant position and my CV got shortlisted. Then had a telephone interview which I thought went very well. I was told I'd hear back by the end of the week and that my CV would be passed to the hiring manager. Then I received an email saying my CV was not shortlisted and they couldn't provide feedback. It baffles me how a CV can go from shortlisted to not shortlisted.
