First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Teacher Retirement System of Texas.
Intern
I was late to my interviews. They mostly asked behavioral and technical questions. The interviewer seemed bothered and annoyed. After several rounds, they intended to ghost me until I sent many follow-ups. They said they'd follow up on a certain day regardless of their decision, but they never did until I reached out numerous times.
- Can you tell me about your approach to problem-solving?
- How do you go about managing your tasks?
- Can you share an example of when you had to prioritize tasks?
Intern
The interview process began with a Hirevue interview. It was pretty straightforward, involving only four questions that were mostly situational and behavioral in nature. I was happy to hear that I passed this stage and would be moving on.
- Can you share an example of a time you encountered a difficult situation and how you managed to resolve it?
- Describe an instance where you had to collaborate with someone you found challenging. What was your strategy?
- Provide an example of a project where you juggled multiple priorities. How did you manage it?
Intern
I applied online and then got a call from a department for an interview. When I got there, I ended up interviewing with my top 3 departments all at the same time. I found out later that I was picked by one of them. The people I met were really nice and helped me feel more relaxed than nervous.
- How do you stand out from other applicants for this role?
