Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Teachable.
Software Engineer
First, I had a screening with HR about expectations and alignments. Then, I got a take-home test, which was a simple technical challenge. After that, there was a 3-hour interview round. One part was to go through the challenge, another was to discuss my technical experience, and the last part was a talk with a designer and a product person. HR mentioned multiple times that the team really liked me and would let me know in a few days. However, it took weeks, almost a whole month, and then they mysteriously found an issue (they weren't clear what it was, and it was misleading since HR said they liked me) and decided not to proceed with my application.
- Walk through your solution to the technical challenge.
Software Engineer
The interview process goes like this: first, a recruiter call where we do a behavioral interview. Then, a hiring manager chat, also behavioral. After that, you'll get a take-home assessment. Finally, there's an on-site where you'll have four interviews covering the take-home, technical stuff, and meeting the hiring manager again.
- What's prompting your job search?
- Tell me about your motivations for seeking a new position.
- What drives your career aspirations?
Software Engineer
The process was very clear and the recruiter was responsive and kind. It started with a recruiter screen, followed by a tech screen involving live coding. Then there was a frontend live coding session, and an engineering manager culture interview. Next, a systems design interview was conducted, followed by interviews with a Product Manager and a Product Designer. Finally, there was an engineering leadership chat.
- Can you create a single screen featuring a basic form and minimal styling, using a react app boilerplate?
- Could you design an architecture diagram for a typical project management application?
