Senior Visual Designer
There were 4 rounds in total. It was a really positive experience with lovely conversations, though I didn't end up getting an offer. The stages were: Recruiter call, then Head of Brand, followed by 2 Designers, and finally a meeting with the Head of Brand and Head of Design and Experience. The last two stages involved going through my portfolio work.
- Be ready to present your portfolio, highlighting your design process and focusing on 2-3 projects you're particularly enthusiastic about sharing with the team.
Software Engineer
First, I had a screening with HR about expectations and alignments. Then, I got a take-home test, which was a simple technical challenge. After that, there was a 3-hour interview round. One part was to go through the challenge, another was to discuss my technical experience, and the last part was a talk with a designer and a product person. HR mentioned multiple times that the team really liked me and would let me know in a few days. However, it took weeks, almost a whole month, and then they mysteriously found an issue (they weren't clear what it was, and it was misleading since HR said they liked me) and decided not to proceed with my application.
- Walk through your solution to the technical challenge.
Product Manager
The interview process was pretty straightforward. It started with a recruiter screen, followed by a call with the hiring manager who is the Head of Product. The final round consisted of three 45-minute behavioral interviews with individuals from engineering, design, and product teams. I noticed the company seems a bit understaffed, especially in design, and maybe a little disorganized. I was ghosted after the final round, even though I thought I performed well. It felt like a company with a lot of flexibility and time off, but if you're looking for strong growth potential and employee satisfaction, it might not be the best fit.
- In situations of uncertainty, how do you proceed?
- What drives your motivation as a Product Manager?
Production Designer
I got an email from a recruiter and then it went from a quick phone screen to the first interview. The recruiter was great, always available to chat and easy to get in touch with. The team was awesome during my full two-hour interview, which was virtual and had four parts, each lasting thirty minutes. The last part was a take-home project, and they said to spend only two hours max on it, which I thought was a cool and ethical way to do a design take-home! Then I met with the hiring manager and a graphic designer to talk about my take-home work and ask/answer more questions.
- Can you walk me through your design process?
- How would you approach solving a specific design problem?
- What's your ideal work environment like?
