Language Analyst
Had a 20 min call with HR, they asked if I could do 5 days in office and overtime. Also asked about salary expectations, which I think were too high for an entry role. Then there was a language test, which HR called 'verbal' but it was actually reading text on Zoom and answering questions in English. Finally, a panel with 3 people, the director was nice. I stumbled on some technical questions but it wasn't too bad. The job description didn't match the interview at all, so an example I gave about success was irrelevant to them.
- How would you advise a client looking to establish a manufacturing facility in Taiwan?
Analyst
So, TDI reached out to me on LinkedIn for an analyst role. First, I had a recruiter call, then a video chat with some team members. After that, they sent a translation task. About a week later, they ghosted me. Months later, I applied again and got a call from a senior manager who was really interested and mentioned the role could be remote for a bit. That sounded good, but then they sent another assessment and went silent again for days. They finally emailed to say the job was in DC and asked if I was still interested. No talk of pay, benefits, or relocation, mind you. They wanted my commitment without basic info. I had another call with a recruiter and told them my salary and relocation needs, and then they rejected me. Their whole process was disorganized, with managers unaware of my previous application, and they kept changing the role. They also never gave feedback on why I was rejected.
- They make you do open source research and/or translation exercises for the assessment portion of the interview process.
Due Diligence Analyst
I applied on Linkedin and they got back to me quickly to set up interviews. The first and second interviews were good. In between those, there was a language test which was fine, just watch the time. There was also a third interview, which I think was to cover for someone who missed the second interview, which was supposed to be more like a panel. It was all very pleasant, and unlike some other experiences, I wasn't ghosted and got a fast rejection.
- Are there any concerns for you working with clients in the oil and gas sectors?
